Learn to talk about your native place.

(Вчимося розмовляти про рідне місце)

Нова тема (UNIT 3 -  глава 3) - це розмова про місце, де я живу (The Place I Live In). Починаємо з великих та маленьких міст (в англійській мові це різні слова) та сел, де ми проживаємо.

Word Box  city (велике місто), town (місто),  village (село),   picturesque square (мальовнича площа)

Phrase Box  busy streets (пожвавлені вулиці), to feel comfortable  (відчувати зручно, комфортно), to be in blossom and in bloom (квітнути),  to be famous for something (бути відомим чимось) 

Communication Box I’d love to. (Я би з задоволенням.) It’s a pity! (Шкода!)

Ex.1 Look and say what place you live in. 
 (Подивися і скажи, в якому місці ти живеш.)

                          I live in a big city.

                          I live in a small town.

                          I live in a village.

                          I live on a farm.

Ex. 2. Listen and repeat. Say if you like to live in your place. 
(Послухай і повтори. Скажи, чи подобається тобі жити у своєму місці.)

              – It’s a pity that I don’t live in a big city.

              – But I am glad that I live in a small town.

              – There are so many big trees and nice flowers around.

                 I have the best of two worlds.

                           - Шкода, що я не живу у великому місті.

                           - А я радий, що живу у маленькому місті.

                           - Всюди є так багато  великих дерев та гарних квітів.

                                Я маю найкраще з двох світів.

Ex. 3. Look, match and say where these children live.

           (Подивися, поєднай і скажи, де живуть ці діти.)

      The girl lives in a picturesque village.

      The boy lives in a cosy town.

      The boy lives on a small farm.

      The children live in a big busy city.

Ex. 4. Look at the pictures again and say:

            (Подивися на малюнки і скажи)

• where the children feel comfortable; (де діти відчувають себе комфортно)

• what makes the children’s places cosy; (що робить місця дітей затишним)

• what their places are famous for. (чим їхні місця відомі)

E x a m p l e: I think the girl feels comfortable in a small village. There are many fruit trees and flowers around. They make her village cosy and picturesque, especially in spring. The village is famous for them.

Я гадаю, що дівчина почуває себе зручно у маленькому селі. Навколо багато фруктових дерев та квітів. Вони роблять її село затишним і мальовничим, особливо навесні. Село відомо ними.
