3.2. Learn to talk about the street and the house you live in

(Вчимося розмовляти про вулицю та будинок, у якому ти живеш)

Кожне місто або село складається з вулиць та провулків, на яких можна бачити різні будинки, магазини, кав’ярні  та багато інших цікавих речей. Тож починаємо розмову про те, що можна знайти на вулицях великих та маленьких міст і сел.

Word Box broad (широкий), lane (провулок), flowerbed (клумба), many-storeyed (багатоповерховий), neighbour (сусід)

Phrase Box in front of the house (перед будинком),  behind the house (за будинком), tall trees (високі дерева), shopping centre (торговельний центр)

Communication Box Don’t you know? (Хіба ти не знаєш?) It can’t be true! (Це не може бути правдою.)

Ex. 1. Look and say what you can see in the street.

   (Подивися і скажи, що ти можеш бачити на вулиці.)

I can see a lot of houses and tall trees in the street.

I can see a lot of flowerbeds in the street.

I can see a lot of many-storeyed buildings in the street.

I can see a lot of cafes and shops in the street.

Ex. 2. Listen and repeat. Say what there is in your street. 

          (Послухай і повтори. Скажи, що є на твоїй вулиці.)

              STREET

– What is there in your street?

– There are many houses, indeed.

– Are there any cafes or shops?

– Yes, they are near the bus stop.

                                                Вулиця

                                  - Що на твоїй вулиці?

                                  - Насправді багато будинків.

                                  - Чи є якісь кафе чи магазини?

                                  - Так, вони знаходяться біля автобусної зупинки.

Ex.3. Look, match and say in what street and house these children live. 

(Подивися, поєднай і скажи, на якій вулиці та в якому будинку живуть ці діти.)

The boy lives in a small one-storeyed house.

The children live in a many-storeyed building.

The girl lives in a small lane.

The children live in a broad busy street.

Ex. 4. Think and say: (Подумай і скажи:)

• what house you live in (у якому будинку ти живеш);

• what there is in front of your house (що є перед будинком);

• what there is behind your house (що є за будинком).

Example: I live in a two-storeyed house. In front of my house there is a playground. Behind my house there is a shop.

Я живу в двоповерховому будинку. Перед моїм домом є ігровий майданчик. За моїм домом є магазин.
