Щоби розповісти про свою кімнату або улюблене місце вдома, читаємо розповіді 3 дітей з різних країн та складаємо свої тексти за зразками.

Ex. 9. Read and say what these children think about their favourite places in their houses. 

(Прочитайте і скажіть, що ці діти думають про свої улюблені місця в своїх будинках.)

I live in Spain. It is very warm in my country and it is always hot in the house. No wonder, my favourite place is a veranda(h). There are many tall trees around it and it is quite cool there.

Я живу в Іспанії. В моїй країні дуже тепло, і завжди спекотно в будинку. Не дивно, що моє улюблене місце - веранда. Навколо неї є багато високих дерев, і там досить прохолодно.

Of all the places in our house I like our kitchen best. It is big and light and it is always warm there. I like to watch how my mum is cooking dinner or how my elder brother is carving new toys for our little twins.

З усіх місць у нашому домі мені подобається наша кухня найбільше. Вона велика і світла і завжди тепло там. Мені подобається дивитися, як моя мама готує обід або як мій старший брат вирізає нові іграшки для наших маленьких близнюків.

My name is Sarah. I live in Australia in a big one-storeyed cottage. Every member of the family has their own room. I like my room a lot. There isn’t much furniture there, but I have everything I need: a computer, a CD player, my books and my family album.

Мене звуть Сара. Я живу в Австралії у великому одноповерховому котеджі. Кожен член сім'ї має власну кімнату. Мені дуже подобається моя кімната. Там немає багато меблів, але у мене є все, що мені потрібно: комп'ютер, СД плейер, мої книги і мій сімейний альбом.

Ex. 10. Answer the questions. (Дайте відповіді на запитання.)

1. What is Homez’s favourite place?  - Homez’s favourite place is a veranda(h).

2. Why does he like it very much? - He likes it very much because there are many tall trees around it and it is quite cool there.

3. Why does Alison like her kitchen? - Alison likes her kitchen because it is big and light and it is always warm there.

4. What does she like to do there?  - She likes to watch how her mum is cooking dinner or how her elder brother is carving new toys for their little twins.

5. Why does Sarah like her own room? - Sarah likes her own room because there isn’t much furniture there, but she has everything she needs: a computer, a CD player, her books and her family album.

Ex. 11. Act as one of the children (Alison, Sarah, Homez) and describe their favourite places. (Уяви себе одним з дітей (Єлісон, Сарою чи Гомесом) і опиши їхні улюблені місця.)

My name is Sarah. I like my room a lot. It is light. It’s a safe place for me. I have everything I need: a computer, a CD player, my books and my family album. I feel comfortable there.

Ex. 12. Tell your friends about your favourite place in your house/flat.

           (Розповідай друзям про своє улюблене місце у квартирі / будинку.)

Personally, I live in a three room flat. Of all the rooms I like my bedroom best. It is light and cosy. I like to spend my free time there. There is not much furniture but I have everything I need. You can see a computer, a CD player, my books and my family album. My friends say it is a safe place for me.

Ex. 13. Write about the room you want to have in your house. Use the plan (Напиши про кімнату, яку ти хочеш мати у будинку. Використовуй план):

1. what house you want to live in (у якому будинку ти хочеш жити);

2. where this house must be (де цей будинок має бути);

3. what room you want to have (яку кімнату ти хочеш мати);

4. what furniture you want to have there (які меблі ти хочеш мати там);

5. why it will be your favourite place (чому це буде твоє улюблене місце).

1. I want to live in a big one-storeyed house.

2. It must be near the wood.

3. I want to have a big nursery.

4. I want to have not much furniture there: a sofa, a writing table, a bookcase and a               wardrobe.

5. It will be my favourite place because I can play and do my lessons, receive my friends       and celebrate different holidays there.

Do it Yourself. Draw a picture of your fantasy favourite room and describe it for a student magazine.
