А зараз спробуємо уявити, що «відчуває» портфель, коли ми наповнюємо його шкільними речами та несемо до школи. Читаємо текст – зразок подібної фантазії. 

Ex. 9. Read and say what makes a day of a schoolbag. 

(Прочитай і скажи, що складає день шкільного портфеля.)

                   A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SCHOOLBAG

It was a typical school day. I was very heavy, with all the school necessities in my large compartment: five books, five copybooks, a pencil box full of pens and pencils, a ruler, an eraser, a bottle of water, a packed lunch and other stuff. It was time to go to school. My owner carried me on her shoulders on our way to school. When we came, she took out her books and homework and hung me and her coat on the peg in the cloakroom. It was going to be another long day. I knew I had to wait in that position till three o’clock. Hours came and went. Suddenly I felt water. Not again! Somebody had spilt it on me, and I got wet and uncomfortable. It was so unfair! Back at home, they put me outside to dry in the sun. The life of a schoolbag is so boring. Children must treat us with more respect. If we leave them, they will have to carry everything themselves…

                    ДЕНЬ В ЖИТТІ ШКОЛЬНОГО ПОРТФЕЛЯ

Це був типовий шкільний день. Я був дуже важким, з усіма школьними речами  у моєму великому відділенні: п'ять книжок, п'ять зошитів, пенал, повний ручок і олівців, з лінійкою, ластиком, пляшка води, упакований обід і інші речі. Настав час піти в школу. Моя власниця несла мене на плечах на шляху до школи. Коли ми прийшли, вона витягла свої книги і домашню роботу, повісила мене і пальто на вішалку в гардеробі. Це був ще один довгий день. Я знав, що треба чекати в цьому положенні до третьої години. Йшов час. Раптом я відчув воду. Тільки не знову! Хтось пролив її на мене, і я промокнув, і мені стало незручно. Це було так несправедливо! Повернувшись додому, вони повісили мене на вулиці, щоб висушити на сонці. Життя шкільного портфеля таке нудне. Діти повинні ставитися до нас з більшою повагою. Якщо ми залишимо їх, їм доведеться носити все ...

Ex. 10. True or False? (Правильно чи неправильно?)

1. The school day started in its usual way. - True

4. Something made the schoolbag feel bad.- True

Ex. 11. Act as the schoolbag from the story “A Day in the Life of a Schoolbag” and talk about your owner’s school day. (Виступи як шкільний портфель з розповіді "День у житті портфеля" і поговори про шкільний день власника.)

My owner likes to read books. He (She) writes some exercises, draws pictures. That’s why I carry some books, copy-books and a pencil-box to school. I also have packed lunch and a bottle of water. When he (she) plays in the school ground he (she) cat eat lunch or drink some water there.

Ex. 12. Tell your friends about a new schoolbag that you may have soon. (Розкажи своїм друзям про новий шкільний портфель, який ти можеш мати найближчим часом.)

Personally, I want a new schoolbag. My backpack is very old. It has got one compartment. You can see a lot of school necessities there. It makes my school life difficult. It is not especially comfortable to carry it to school. My mum is considering about a rolling backpack. I will treat it with more respect.

Ex. 13. Write a thank-you note to someone who bought you your schoolbag. (Напиши подяку тому, хто купив тобій шкільний ранець.)
