               SCHOOL PLAYGROUND CULTURE

My name is Francis. I’m in Year 4 in Woodland’s Junior School. I enjoy my school life. We study hard in the lessons and have a lot of fun during break time. We have our morning break from 10:20 till 10:35. We bring a snack from home to eat in the playgrounds. The snack is usually a pack of crisps, fruit or a couple of biscuits. We play games on either of our two playgrounds or on an adventure playground where we can use seesaws and swing sets. In the summer term, we play on our large playing field. Football is a very popular game, but the children also play many other games, some of which have been around in school playgrounds for many years. For example, we can form teams to play football and basketball. It’s also popular to skip and play tag there. By the way, tag is my favoutite playground game. At the end of break the duty teacher blows a whistle. The children stand still and wait till the teacher tells us to line up in our class lines. That is also an important part of our school playground culture.

                         КУЛЬТУРА ШКІЛЬНОГО МАЙДАНЧИКА

Мене звуть Френсіс. Я в 4-му класі (четвертий рік) в початковій школі Вудленда. Я насолоджуюся шкільним життям. Ми навчаємося наполегливо на уроках і весело проводимо час на перерві. Ми маємо ранковий перерву з 10:20 до 10:35. Приносимо сніданок з дому, щоб поїсти на дитячих майданчиках. Сніданок – це зазвичай пачка чіпсів, фрукти або трохи печива. Ми граємо в ігри на будь-якому з наших двох майданчиків або на пригодницькому майданчику, де ми можемо користуватися гойдалками. Влітку ми граємо на нашому великому ігровому полі. Футбол - дуже популярна гра, але діти також грають у багато інших ігор, деякі з яких вже багато років є на шкільних майданчиках. Наприклад, ми можемо сформувати команди для гри в футбол і баскетбол. Також популярно скакати або грати в салочки там. До речі, салочки - це моя улюблена гра на ігровому майданчику. Наприкінці перерви черговий вчитель дає свисток. Діти стоять спокійно і чекають, коли вчитель накаже нам шикуватися на наших класних місцях. Це також важлива частина культури нашого шкільного майданчика.
