У перший понеділок вересня США і Канада святкують День праці (Labor Day). У цей день американці та канадці влаштовують кемпінги по всій країні та улюблені ними барбекю на повітрі.

I love Labour Day. We celebrate it on the first Monday of September in Canada. The holiday symbolizes the end of summer and the beginning of autumn. On this day many Canadian families have the biggest picnic of the year. We usually go out of town and spend the whole day together. Children like to play outdoor games like football, volleyball or hide-and-seek. But I like meals in the open air. I can eat food that I like and I don’t think about table manners. It’s fun! My dad says that in America people also celebrate such a holiday. Parents organize it for their child ren of school age. They say goodbye to their summer holi days and get ready for a new school year. Isn’t it interesting?
Я люблю День праці. Ми святкуємо його в перший понеділок вересня в Канаді. Свято символізує кінець літа і початок осені. У цей день багато канадських сімей мають найбільший пікнік року. Зазвичай ми виїжджаємо за місто і проводимо весь день разом. Діти люблять грати в ігри на вулиці, такі як футбол, волейбол або хованки. Але я люблю їжу на відкритому повітрі. Я можу їсти їжу, яка мені подобається, і я не думаю про манери за столом. Це весело! Мій тато каже, що в Америці люди також святкують таке свято. Батьки організують його для своїх дітей шкільного віку. Вони прощаються зі своїми літніми канікулами і готуються до нового навчального року. Хіба це не цікаво?
There is a special day in England, too. In November you can hear children say “Remember, remember, the 5th of November”. They are talking about Bonfire Night or Guy Fawkes Night. This is my favourite autumn holiday and we celebrate it on the fifth of November. On this day many English boys and girls carry funny figures of a man in an old coat and a hat, with a mask on the face. They make them out of straw and call the man “Guy Fawkes”. Our teacher told us that many years ago this man wanted to blow up the English parliament*. But the soldiers caught and arrested him. After that people lit many fires in the streets. Since that time children go from door to door and say: “Give a penny for a guy”. They spend their money on fireworks. In the evening people make a bonfire in the main square of a town or a city. I also take part in this holiday. I like to sit near the bonfire with my friends and to watch the fireworks.
В Англії теж є особливий день. У листопаді можна почути, як діти кажуть: «Пам'ятайте, пам'ятайте, 5 листопада». Вони говорять про Ніч Багаття або Ніч Гая Фокса. Це моє улюблене осінне свято, і ми святкуємо його 5 листопада. У цей день багато англійських хлопчиків і дівчаток несуть смішні фігури чоловіка в старому пальто і капелюсі, з маскою на обличчі. Вони роблять їх з соломи і називають цю людину "Гай Фокс". Наш вчитель розповідав нам, що багато років тому ця людина хотіла підірвати англійський парламент. Але солдати спіймали і заарештували його. Після цього люди запалюють багато вогнищ на вулицях. З того часу діти йдуть від дверей до дверей і кажуть: «Дайте хлопцю пенні». Вони витрачають свої гроші на феєрверк. Ввечері люди готують багаття на головній площі містечка або міста. Я також беру участь у цьому святі. Мені подобається сидіти біля вогнища з друзями і дивитися феєрверки.
